The mentorship has achieved its goal and purpose, after a joint decisision, it's time for us to move on separately.
I (Cilla) is thankful for all the knowledge and experience this time has given me, together with Helena and Faraoland.
We are excited to see what 2012 and beyond holds for us in the basenji world and life!

Kenzo's daughter Nefe new juniorwinner with CC!

In tough competition "Nefe", Sternhimmels Nota Prima, won juniortitle HeJV-11 and was also 2nd best bitch with CC at Helsingfors international dog show "Helsinki Winner 2011". Nefe's sister Sternhimmels Notabilia Bona was 3rd in junior with certificate quality. Judge was Säde Hohteri from Finland. Congrats! Both girls are daughters to "Kenzo",
Ch Faraoland Xcellent Example, who is very proud of his offspring.

Trip to Norway!

Helena, Isa and Isa's mother Nettan went to Norway and Norwegian winner show. Thank you Gro with family for accommodation and nice evenings. We met old friends, among others Sofie, and we had a nice chatt. Three basenjis + Lexi represented Faraoland. With the best result to still going strong-veteran SE Ch Faraoland Esenji Rafhael, "Raffe", BOS-veteran and the new title NVV-11! Big congrats to Maria and Therese who owns him.

Go Danko!

The handsome "Danko", Faraoland Kenzo Power, and his owner has been to their 2nd dog show, together with new friend Anna with Izzi. Danko got BOB and BOG-4, with nice critique from both judge and audience at the match show.
Splendid, nice done Annie! Danko has also participated in an obedience course this fall.

We are very happy that Danko is part of your lovely family Annie and Henrik, giving it both joy and some funny tricks.

This sunday we met "Benji", Faraoland L'Eau Par Kenzo, and he makes you happy every time. Benji is a generous joddler and you will always get a barooo! Benji lives with his very nice and friendly family Emil and Erika, for whom we are very happy to have in our Faraoland-group. "Lexi", Chagmas Rose to Faraoland, is also very happy to have Benji around. The charmer brings joy to her daily at Norrby, when his own family is at work. They are so cute together!

Big congrats to breeder Linda and owner Karina to Diva's success! "Diva", Zahleka Kazor Diva Loves Drama, is daughter to "Viking", SE Ch SE V-05 SBIS BISS Faraoland Viking of Venture. Diva was best bitch with title DK W-2011, CC, new Danish champion, CACIB and BOB at international show in Herning. Judge was Henrik Soeborg, Denmark.

At the same 2-day show, a grandchild to "Viking", Ch Faraoland Viking of Venture, was BOB the first day with CC and CACIB and the second day BOS with CC, CACIB and DKV-2011! Congrats to Kingwanas Hellblazer Of D'Guard!

A new twofold champion!

"Amigo", Faraoland Va Todo Al Ganador, has been to Gibraltar to the annual double international dog show.
First day for judge Göran Bodegård (Sweden) Amigo was 2nd best male with CC and CACIB! Second day for
judge Annuka Paloheimo (Finland) Amigo got RCC and reserv-CACIB!

In Norwegian Hamar the 9th of October Amigo was best male with CC and CACIB and BOS!
Thereby he is now both a GBZ and a NO champion! Big congrats Kjersti! Judge was Petru Muntean from Romania.

Kenzo and Daisy are new Finnish CHAMPIONS!

Cilla and Bruno took the ferry to Helsinki for a weekend with "Kenzo", C.I.B SE DK NO NORD
Ch Faraoland Xcellent Example, and "Daisy", SE Ch Jo Coyote's Ox-Eye Daisy, in Joensuu. Already at the first day they both got their Finnish titles and Daisy also got R-CACIB, which will be a CACIB later on. In other words, we got what we came for, so the rest of the time we could relax without butterflies in the stomach :D YES!!!

The dogs likes to explore new environments and gladly take part of photosessions!


Kenzo was a bit questioning about the bed in the boatcabin, so he decided to do something about it... Daisy likes to scout from the hotel window for an update of the neighbourhood news

At the sunday show Kenzo finnished off with BOB and Daisy was 2nd best bitch. Thank you judge Fernando Madeira Rodriques from Portugal. Daisy was beaten by the American import Ch Klassic Tri-Fecta, who then got her Finnish title. Congrats! Then it was time to go home directly after the breed judgement! Thank you Finland for hospitality and pleasant meetings! Kenzo is soon 7 years old and he is still awarded new titles and BOB-wins, our beloved prince!

More Finnish success!

In the middle of our happiness for the new titles of our own basenjis we got the news that Kenzo's daughter Sternhimmels Nota Prima was BOB-puppy, both at saturday and sunday in other shows in Finland at the same time! Great! Big congratulations!

Kenzo's son "Verro", KBHV-10 Kenjaali Verro-Vigilant, was best male with CAC and CACIB, BOB and finally BOG-4 in Ronneby! Super! In hard competition in Oulu "Amos", FI Ch Kenjaali Hadhiri-Hawker, was best male with CACIB and BOS! Judge Anneli Sutela from Finland. Congratulations to Paula and Naranja! Amos is a son to "Kenzo", Ch Faraoland Xcellent Example.

On saturday Amos was in Swden and got a nice placement. He was 2nd best male at Piteå International,
with R-CACIB and R-CAC.

In Oberwart, Austria, "Divo", VDH JCh Faraoland Il Divo got CAC, CACIB and BOB for judge Matyas Jaroslav from the Czech Rep. In the group final he was 3rd! Congratulations to Erika and Paul!

Tvååker National. "Wilda", Zahleka Kazor Drama Queen, was 2nd best bitch with CAC! Judge Ewa Nielsen from Sweden. Congrats Anna-Karin, Kjell and Linda! Wilda is a daughter to "Viking", Ch Faraoland Viking of Venture.

The World dog show in Paris 2011! Victory for Faraoland!

We (Cilla and Helena) flew down to Paris to be just audiance and what a show we watched! One of Faraoland's biggest stars showed everybody what shows are all about. Multi Ch Multi W Faraoland Bluetooth Enigma "Harley", trotted like a king and to our applauce he got first the title WORLD WINNER 2011 and finally BOB! The tears of joy floawed! We congratulate Harley's owners Sofie and Madelene Lönn to this fantastic victory, in fierce competition by the world's elite! Might it also be noteworthy in the history books that it was a black/white basenji who won? The show day ended with Harley and Sofie in a brilliant performance in the group final. He was picked but not placed.

We mingled with alot of friends. It was very nice to meet the French-born daughters of Ch Faraoland Viking of Venture, "Viking" in reality. They were both promising black beauties!

Fatal Attraction Out of Africa with handler resp. Forest Bell Out of Africa with family and "grandma" Helena

The title Veteran World Winner went to a Faraoland-son, namelly the Veteran World Winner from 2010,
"Hiro" Ch M Wami's American Fortune Hunter. Mother to Hiro is the elegant Veteran World Winner from 2008,
"Nimba" Ch Faraoland Nile Wild Nimba. Hiro finnished his day as a BIS-veteran! Big congrats!!! Go Sweden!

The night before the show, we met a real English princess and also Faraoland-descendant,
Ch Akmar Queen Ankhesenamun, together with her family. The beautiful bitch is a greatgrandchild to "Lucia",
Ch Faraoland Lucia Out of Africa. On saturday's show we had the pleasure to congratulate Paula Steele to her bitch's well-deserved World Winner 2011-title!

At the show we celebrated the BOB together with Anneli over some champagne. Later we bought champagne and
continued the celebrations with Harley's family. Thank you Sofie and Madelene!

Once in Paris sightseeing is required. We got the chance to see most of the cultural hot spots and some shopping :D

BEST IN SHOW at the Swedish Specialty 2011!

Only a handful Faraoland-basenjis attended the Swedish Specialty but they was awarded nice placements.
Saturday's judge was Hans Lehtinen (Finland) adults and sunday's judge Val Allen (England) puppies and
veterans 10+. Thanks to the judges and big congratulations to all winners!

Our beloved "Elton", Faraoland Kenzo Signature, made us all proud by winning first
best male 6-9 months, then BOB 6-9 months and later beat the BOB-puppy 4-6 months and was finally BEST IN SHOW-Puppy at the Swedish Specialty 2011! What a great experience!

Viking's daughter Bell wins big in Germany!

In Saarbrücken 2-day-show, Viking's young daughter "Bell", Forest Bell Out of Africa, was BOB with CC, club-CC and
CACIB day 1 for judge Lisbeth Mach. Day 2 she was again awarded the CC, this time for judge Christine Rossier.
Big big congrats to owner Tanja and breeder Christian!

The Finnish Basenji specialty!

Helena, Cilla, Bruno, Anneli and Ninnie took the ferry to Finland for the Finnish Basenji Specialty. Many thanks to our
great travel companions and thank you kennel Sternhimmels with friends for a lovely weekend and superb hospitality!

The weekend started out very well. In hard competition one of Kenzo's Finnish daughters, Sternhimmels Nota Prima,
won first her class, then against the older bitchpuppy classwinner and finally over all the boys entered and was
BEST IN SHOW!!! We shouted and cried of joy and pride :-) Big congrats to her owners and also her breeder Anneli!

"Angus", Elsco Amabrawyin, won the open class together with Anneli. In best male they got a nice 4th place with CC!
Only two basenjis from Sweden have, through the years, succeeded to win the specialty-CC in Finland, first our
"Twinkle", Ch Hazhart Star Surf, and now our Angus! Big congrats Anneli, Ninnie and his breeders Scott & John,
who were there and got the chance to experience it all!

Appr 75% of the basenjis got very good or lower, so the audience cheered every time excellent were handed out.
Our black princess "Lily", Faraoland HD Street Glide, did good in the desertlike heat and was placed 2nd in
intermediate out of 18 entered. Only beaten in the class by the bitch who later was best bitch 1st. Lily made
the final cut in best bitch, out of only five picked.

The Norwegian Basenji specialty!

"Oliver", Ch Chagmas Pirate King Black Pearl, won the award best black/white during the official judgement.
Congrats Gro! Daddy "Viking", Ch Faraoland Viking of Venture, is very proud.

The promising puppy "Vinni", Faraoland Kenzo Jungle Homme, was third in male puppy class. Congrats Ingrid!

What a Faraoland-weekend in Norway!

We thank our puppy buyers for this fantastic results!

Tromsö Hundeklubb. Judge Rony Doedjins. On saturday "Bea" Ch Faraoland Beatrix Potter was BOB &
"Amigo" Faraoland Va Todo Al Ganador BOS with CAC. Below, also a picture of Bea's nice flowing gait.

On sunday the result was repeated in Tromsö. Judge Fernando Madeira Rodriges. Congrats!
The present status of Basenji of the Year, in Norway: Bea in the top with Amigo second :D Well done!

A bit down south in Norge our puppies competed with great results! On saturday,
for breedjudge Terje Lindström, "Flower" Faraoland Flower By Kenzo was BOB with
her brother "Vinni" Faraoland Kenzo Jungle Homme BOS.


In the final Flower was BOG-3 for judge Kari Granaas Hansen! Below, the beautiful little Flower.


On sunday, the result in the breed was repeated for judge Kari Granaas Hansen. In the final Flower was BOG-4 for

It is now official! Faraoland welcomes Love to Sweden!

Afrikos Mitas Admiral of Love aka "Love"


Sometimes we all get struck by love at first sight. This is now true for us and we are sure that it will happen again. But it feels very special when we both got the same feelings for a dog and the same dog. It can only be one thing,
hattrick! First we were presented for the object of our love through pictures, with professional handling by Reda Vengalyte. Later after reading the pedigree it was time to ask if Love could be Swedish plus ask for video, so we could study the movements of the prince of our dreams. Excellent!

During this spring and early summer, we have happily noticed that also the judges see the beauty of our prince charming and Love has already been winning alot from puppy classes. This weekend BOB-puppy and BIS-placement! We would like to thank Airida who helped us with the contact and above all Love's breeder Vaida, for giving us the opportunity to make our dream come true!

Exactly 6 years ago, "Kenzo", C.I.B SE DK NO NORD Ch Faraoland Xcellent Example, was BIS-puppy at Katrineholm
Brukshundklubbs match show. Now his son "Elton", Faraoland Kenzo Signature, walked in his fathers footsteps and was BOB-puppy and also BIS-puppy! Congratulations Linda & Jeff and thank you for a great day together in the sun.
The judge was Sinnika Thåg.

Our kids in Norway have made a successful debut!

It has been a two-days-show in Norway and we got great news from it!
On saturday "Vinni", Faraoland Kenzo Jungle Homme, was BOS and
sister "Flower", Faraoland Flower By Kenzo, was 2nd best bitch puppy.

BEST IN SHOW x 2 in a "frosty" Söderköping!

Despite the weather, three basenjis from Faraoland performed very well in Söderköping, on OESS match show.
Giving the basenji breed nice PR! A praise for the achievements in cold winds and chilly temperature.

First one out in the ring was "Elton", Faraoland Kenzo Signature, who was BOB-puppy!

The audience were concentrated and frozen...

"Shenzi", Faraoland Royal Wedding Cake, was best male. Congrats Kristi & Christina!

"Lily", Faraoland HD Street Glide, was best bitch.

Shenzi was BOS and Lily BOB!

Then we mingled and let the dogs play, however so much that we completely forgot about the group finals.

Luckily we figured that out in time and Lily was the winner in group 5! ;-)

Elton did good despite the cold weather and was Best In Show Puppy! Big congrats to his owners Linda and Jeff!
Lily swept around the big ring and was awarded Best In Show! Pleasant new acquaintances for Faraoland were
the judges Joakim Ohlsson and Jan Thörnblom. Thank you all for a great day!

A new champion! Super results in Eskilstuna!

Early saturday we drow our cars to Eskilstuna and SSUK's national dog show. The adult basenjis were judged by the nice judge Christen Lang from Norway. First one out was "Sami", Faraoland Regres A Mi, first time after his 2-years day and for chance of the title. Nerve tingling! He made us proud by winning best male, CAC and by that new SWEDISH CHAMPION! Then it was the bitches and from us "Lily", Faraoland HD Street Glide. In a selfconfident way she won best bitch and her first CAC! She also won BOB-junior/youngster. Later BOB went to Sami and BOS to Lily, together with two very happy owners and breeders ;-) Thank you Joel and Sandra for the BOB-/BOS-picture!

Awaiting the finals we had a little photosession. The brand new champion rested in his VIP-coupe!

We also had "Elton", Faraoland Kenzo Signature, with us, a promising little handsome,
and his owners Linda and Jeff. Thank you for your good company!

Eventually it was time for the finals. Icing on the cake was our showy Lily, who float in her gait in the big ring so we all got goosebumps! Or what about the judge in person, jumping of joy, wanting to hand over the 1st price rosette?! What a happy end of a lovely day. Let us present the BEST IN SHOW junior/youngster!!!

We had a nice little reunion in Linköping for some training of the younger generations. First at place was the lovely yoddeling "Benji", Faraoland L'Eau Par Kenzo, who welcomed us grandly in true basenji style :-)

Lucia's greatgrandchild BOB on Crufts!

To mean something for the breed, in other countries but your own, and to have a greatgrandchild winning BOB
at Crufts, is of course huge in every aspect. This achievement did our own, nowadays retired,
Ch Faraoland Lucia out of Africa. We have followed the judging online with excitement. And we can proudly state
that Lucia's grand-, greatgrand- and greatgreatgrandchildren this year have been winning seven classes at
the world's biggest dogshow, Crufts! Congratualtions to Kissangani Dream maker at Djoser!

This make you think back of earlier year's achivements as well and Lucia's impact started already in 2003. Her nice
Ch Skyewalker Storm of Whitney wins BOB and Lucia's own daughter Ch Faraoland Toyou at Zordia "Svea" takes the RCC. In 2004 Svea wins the Limit Bitch. In 2006 the granddaughter Zordia's Queen Nerfertari for Akmar wins the RCC.
and the sister Zordia's Kinaymkela is the winner of postgraduate class. The year after, 2007 Lucia's grandson Ch Zordia's Indiana Jones wins best Puppy in breed.

Crufts 2009 was a year to remember with pride and joy, because then our homebred Harley,
Ch Faraoland Bluetooth Enigma won his class, became best male with CC and BOS. He is a black grandson of Lucia.
Best puppy that year went to Zordia's Jafari. Additionally Lucia greatgrandchildren Jethard Timed to Perfection and
Jethard Pardon me Boys won their classes. In 2010, this year's BOB, took Best puppy in Breed and Zordia's Wazzala took the RCC.

This year our own Angus' (Elsco Amabrawyin) brother and sister (again Lucia greatgrandchildren) won their classes,
Lucia descendants from Woodella and also another dog from Kissangani won their classes.
CONGRATULATIONS to you all!

We have two more homebred dogs to be mentioned, whom has performed great results at the hardest competition of all, the Crufts. First Multi Ch Faraoland Luxor out of Africa ( Lucia's litterbrother), who in 2002 won a honourable
second place in a class of big entry. Also Lucias granddaughter Ch Faraoland beatrix Potter, trotted in to a third place in a big class in 2009. Lucia has among all her beautiful children two GB-champions that we are so very proud off!
This is because in England, it is soo hard to become a champion since you don't stop to win the CC just becuase you have the title, as dogs do here. In England the CCs always goes to BOB and BOS. This started with a reflection and
ended up in many number of years and names of dogs later. But sometimes it is very interesting to look back and
be proud and happy for our lovely Lucia," the queen of light".

Puppy of the Year 2010! Lily was a star!

 
 
For the first time ever Puppy of the Year - all breeds - took place. At Grand hotel in Stockholm with a luxorious brunch.
Our beautiful young lady "Lily", Faraoland HD Street Glide, was qualified thanks to BIS-puppy in Visby last year.
Lily owned the arena with her selfconfidence and elegance! This got us all the way to the semifinal, then beaten by the total winner "Puppy of the Year". Thank you Lily for making this day a day to remember with pride for the rest of our lifes! Lily's sheerleaders were Cilla (also handler), Helena, Bruno and Cilla's mother Marita. Thank you all for a lovely afternoon together! And big congrats to the other basenjis present as well!

A small puppy reunion in Kristinehamn!

Due to the loooong move for "Flower", Faraoland Flower By Kenzo, och "Jungle",
Faraoland Kenzo Jungle Homme, we met at the brother "Danko", Faraoland Kenzo Power.
It was a happy reunion and the puppies played the entire afternoon. Until they fell asleep one after another in the lap of their new owners. It was then time to go home... Thank you very much for your hospitality Annie & Henrik!

Cover story nr 2! Star of the kennel!

INT NORD Ch SBIS BISS Faraoland Nile Wild Bambuti "Tingeling"

It is said here in Sweden, that through the heart the mouth speaks and we got superlatives in abundance
when we describe the STAR of the kennel "Tingeling". She was a daughter of "Tang", which we previously
presented from our archives. Tingeling was the only female in the litter so we never had to agonize with choosing
"the right puppy". Perhaps it was lucky for me since this puppy surpassed our expectations by far.

Tingeling was really a shooting star, as a bitch normally the mummy duties tend to dominate after a short period
in the show ring. Tingeling started her career to the top by becomming BIS-puppy in the Swedish basenji Specialty
for breed specialist Glenway Dymock and then BOS-puppy at the Norwegian Specialty for Tore Edmund.
As an adult Tingeling won BIS on specialties both here in Sweden for Elina Tan and in Germany for another breed
specialist Irene Horner. On SSD (now SSUK) Tingeling won two BIS and became derby winner (the year's most
successful SSD-dog) both 1994 and 1996. At Swedish all breed shows, her greatest achievement was BIS-2
in Baldersnäs International dog show 1995. She won the group 17 times in total in her career. She was invited to
Champion of Champions 1996.

Tingeling had four litters with 14 puppies in total, whereof 10 are champions. Her blood line lives on in
many generations of successful basenjis, both in Europe and here at Faraoland.

One of the greatest is missed!

INT NORD VDH TyskClub CA DK ES EE FI FR GI NL IL ITA LT LU MC PT Ch BISS Mandela Free Out Of Africa is no more.
A legend in the breed has left us. Nelson was the black and white basenji who put the beautiful black colour on
the Swedish map, an eye opener for the judges and breeders. He was shown to his Swedish title as a young male
but came to stay here with considerable many more titles and years later. As a veteran, Nelson started his Swedish
show career with a BIS in the veteran finals, at the first all breed show he was entered to. Prohandled by Sofie Lönn,
who later has shown two generations of black Nelson progeny to fantastic wins. Nelson really gave the expression
multi champion the correct meaning, becuase who can beat his title list above?!
 
 

The fact that Nelson also was a wonderful family pet make the distress even more. As a Swede Nelson lived with
the Ekholm family, who we now sends an extra thought in their loss of a faithful friend and companion. And also
a BIG thank you for opening your home for Nelson, giving him the pethome he deserved.

Nelson's last performance was at the breed specialty in Vadstena 2008, when he surpriced us all with a flowing effortless movement round the ring at the age of 11. Awarded a placemant in best male in strong international competition, best movement and Best In Show Veteran!
 

Nelson still lives through his progeny, having not just children but also great grandchildren here at Faraoland.
And each time we enjoy them, we should think of you Nelson! Our wonderful outstanding black/white basenji.
Thank you for all the joy and pride you gave us at Faraoland. R.I.P darling and beloved Nelson!

Cover story nr 1! Tang!

This year we will give you a short presentation of our founders, basenjis that have ment alot to us and for many others. Some of you might have read the name in a pedigree or seen a picture of them. First one out is of course our brood bitch, SE Ch Bokoto Nile Black Tango. She came from kennel Bokoto in England. Tricoloured had always been a favourite. "Tang", became the founder of a strong line of beautiful and topwinning Faraoland basenjis and
actually many of the now active breeders across Europe.

In her first litter we had three champions: INT Ch Faraoland Amie Black Beauty,
SE NO Ch Faraoland Nile Wild Akabusi (kennel Kasenyi) and FIN Ch Faraoland Nile Wild Akawungo (kennel Sharaba).
In the second litter Multi Ch Faraoland Nile Wild Burundi (kennel Mokoondi) and our own star
NORD INT Ch SBIS BISS Faraoland Nile Wild Bambuti, "Tingeling", was born. Litter number three gave two champions
SE Ch Faraoland Hefa Out Of Africa and SE Ch Faraoland Hadyiah Out Of Africa. "Haddi", was used in breeding and is the father of our N-litter. Tang may not have been a superstar as a show dog, but she could move!!! One judge sad this words to describe her: "Born to Move"!!! Her fantastic strength was her progeny and because all of this we want to present to you, yet again, our wonderful brood bitch Ch Bokoto Nile Black Tango. We also want to thank kennel Bokoto for this fantastic basenji....

Happy New Year! Faraoland are gaiting into 2011!

We would like to thank everyone that has helped us during the year 2010 and we are now looking forward
what this year will bring :-)

"Lily", Faraoland HD Street Glide, has got her invitation for "Puppy of the Year". Last time we were at Grand Hotel in Stockholm (2009), Lily's grandmother "Lucia", Ch Faraoland Lucia Out of Africa, was runner up Veteran of Veterans.

Last year (2010) Faraoland was represented by the multiwinner "Harley",

Multi Ch Multi W Faraoland Bluetooth Enigma, Lily's father. This year it is our own beautiful black and white
little princess' turn! We are so proud!

We can now proudly present that the Faraoland-family will be extended with a new member this spring.
In Norway Viking's daughter "Ruby" Ch Chagmas Pirate Princess Red Ruby whelped two beautiful red daughters,
one of them will br living in Norrby Trädgård. The father is the multiwinning Ch Jasiri-Sukari John Tri-Volta.
A stunning tricoloured male, who has won Top Basenji in the US. Both red daughters carry his lovely tricolour-gene, which will match our future breedings plans perfectly! Thank you Gro (kennel Chagmas) for this opportunity!
